We started
because the juice
wasn't good enough.
Not anywhere in Kampala. Not at the supermarket, not at the stall, not in any bottle that had been sitting on a shelf for two weeks. We wanted juice that tasted like the fruit it came from. Pressed that morning. Sealed that hour. At your door before it ever had a chance to stop being fresh.
So we built it ourselves.

The Problem
Ugandan fruit is extraordinary.
The juice on the shelves wasn't.
Walk through any market in Kampala and the produce is astonishing. Mangoes that are genuinely golden. Passion fruit so ripe it smells like a different world. Watermelons the size of your chest. The raw ingredient is there. It's always been there.
But pick up a bottle of juice at the supermarket and read the label. Preservatives. Stabilisers. Concentrates. Artificial flavouring. Ingredients you need a chemistry degree to parse. This wasn't juice anymore. It was a manufactured approximation of something that should have been simple.
And the imported premium options — Ceres, Liqui-Fruit, anything that flew in from somewhere else — they were expensive, they'd been in transit for weeks, and they had nothing to do with Uganda. They were somebody else's fruit, processed somewhere else, shipped here, and sold at a premium for the privilege.
The gap was obvious. Something local, genuinely fresh, no shortcuts, no preservatives, and made with the kind of fruit that grows ten minutes from where you're drinking it. That product didn't exist. So we made it.
"The fruit was always here. We just stopped cutting corners on what we did with it."

The Word
Nono
From Luganda — a word for source, for grandmother, for the place where something comes from. The original. The trusted one.
What It Means to Us
Heritage meets honesty. Deep roots, no pretence. A name that carries authority without arrogance. When you hear it twice — NONO — you remember it.
The Sub-Name
Cold Press
Not a marketing word. A description of the process. Cold pressed means no heat, no chemicals, just pressure. The juice is exactly what the fruit was.
A name with roots
deep in Ugandan soil.
Names matter. They carry weight before a single word of copy is read. We wanted a name that felt like it grew up here, not one that was designed in a boardroom to sound healthy.
Nono is a word you already know. It carries warmth, authority, trust. The kind of trust you give something that's been around longer than you have. Paired with "Cold Press" — which simply describes what we do — the name tells the whole story before you've even opened the bottle.
It also sounds right. Say it once and it sticks. That wasn't an accident.
The Process
From Ugandan soil
to your hands. Same day.
This isn't a simplified version of how we work. It's exactly how we work, every single morning, with no exceptions.
The fruit arrives before 7am
Sourced from Ugandan markets and farms the same morning. We look at it, smell it, check it. If it's not right, it doesn't go in the press.
Cold pressed, not cooked
Hydraulic pressure extracts the juice. No heat, no chemicals, no pasteurisation that destroys the very thing you're drinking it for. The flavour stays intact because we don't interfere with it.
Bottled within hours
Into clear bottles so you can see exactly what's inside. Sealed and labelled. No sitting around, no storage days, no waiting. The bottle goes from press to cap in the same session.
At your door, same day
Order before 10am. Receive it before the day is out. That's the timeline from the ground to your glass. Not two weeks. Not two days. Today.
What We Stand For
Five things we won't
negotiate on. Ever.
Purity
No preservatives. No artificial anything. The ingredients list on every NONO bottle is short enough to read in five seconds because there's nothing in there that doesn't belong. That's not a marketing position. It's the only way we know how to make it.
Honesty
The clear bottle isn't an aesthetic decision. It's a statement. You can see exactly what you're buying before you open it. The juice colour, the texture, how much is in there. We have nothing to hide, so we hide nothing.
Origin
Proudly Ugandan, not just in name. Every piece of fruit comes from Ugandan markets and farms. The money stays local. The relationships are local. When NONO grows, Uganda grows with it.
Vitality
A bottle of NONO is a small, deliberate decision. You know what's in it, you know where it came from, and you know it's doing something genuine for you. That should be the minimum standard for what goes in your body. We just made it the starting point.
Growth
We started with juice. We're not stopping there. NONO is built to grow into food, into spaces, into the daily lives of Ugandan families. But everything we add will meet the same standard as everything we started with. The bar doesn't lower when the product line expands.
Taste the difference
These aren't just words.
Every bottle proves it.
Since Day One
Small brand. Serious numbers.
These numbers matter because they're honest. We don't inflate them. We don't round up. And the one that matters most — zero preservatives — has been the same since the first bottle we ever pressed.

Pressed Fresh
Uganda has always grown
extraordinary fruit.
We just stopped wasting it.
Kampala is surrounded by some of the best tropical produce in the world. The climate, the soil, the farmers who've been doing this for generations — none of that needed fixing. The only thing that needed fixing was what happened after the fruit was picked.
NONO exists to do justice to what Uganda already grows. Nothing more than that. Every bottle we press is a small act of respect for the fruit, the land, and the people who cultivate it.
The NONO Difference
Most juice is processed.
Ours is pressed.
The difference between those two words is the difference between what you've been drinking and what you could be drinking.
Most Other Juice
Made from concentrate, then watered back down
Preservatives to survive weeks on a shelf
Heat-treated, which destroys enzymes and flavour
Opaque bottles — because you shouldn't see what's inside
vs
NONO
Cold Press
NONO Cold Press
Whole fruit, same morning — no concentrate, ever
Zero preservatives — it's in the bottle tonight, not next month
Cold pressed — no heat, so the flavour stays exactly as the fruit intended
Clear bottles — because transparency isn't just a word here
From the People Drinking It
Don't take our word for it.
"I'd basically given up on buying juice from a shop. The preservatives, the taste, the weird list of ingredients. NONO was the first one that tasted like I'd just squeezed it myself. My 10-year-old daughter now asks for it by name."
"We put NONO in our office fridge on a trial basis. Within a week, three people had asked me where they could order it for their homes. We've been a standing order client ever since. Best thing we've done for the team."
"We ordered custom-labelled NONO bottles for our wedding. Two hundred guests, and I spent the whole reception answering questions about what they were drinking. It turned into a talking point on its own. Six months later, most of our guests are ordering it regularly."
The story's honest.
The juice is better.
Order and see for yourself.
Every bottle you order is pressed the same morning it arrives at your door. No sitting in a warehouse, no preservatives keeping it alive past its natural life. Just fruit, pressed, sealed, delivered. That's all this is.
